Fitting the new parabolic springs was a great idea - I'd highly
recommend it to anyone with a series landie. I was a bit
disappointed with the speed at which they settled given the
amazing height gain I saw just after installation. The next job
you can see from here is a new tail-pipe for the exhaust!

After the Mille Riveres off-road trip in France
the Landie was in dire need of a scrub up, some new paint and a
few new bits and pieces...

Two days of scrubbing, painting polishing and
repair work - the Landie is once again turning heads.

After pulling off the Miller Riveres stickers, the paint came away
again, so it was time to sand it back, clean it up and re-paint
it. I used a model aircraft spray gun to apply colour matched
paint. I'm really happy with the result - although, you wouldn't
want to do the entire vehicle this way!

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo showing the huge dent and
scrape that the checker plate is covering. The damage occurred at
2 in the morning when we drove over a small bluff and caught the
corner section on a concrete ledge. Having done some basic
straightening with a hammer, I simply pop-riveted the
pre-fabricated checker plate into position. It's not any stronger
than the original, but it looks the business.

Is
this the end?
Don't be crazy! I've now fitted a new bull bar, bumper bar and
tail-pipe assembly. Still waiting to be done is the addition of a
Defender heater/fan matrix which should do a much better job than
the little hamster running around in the heater fan at the moment.
But until I get pics of those last few jobs: have a look at
some pics of the landie out on various trails in the off-roading
section. |
